The Plexagon

A space for unconventional art and artists in Rochester, NY

The Art Begins Sept 2026

Cafe Opening Early 2027

The Plexagon is for the PLEX neighborhood

Art can transform neighborhoods by fostering community pride, encouraging social cohesion, and driving unconventional thinking and solutions. It reflects an area’s cultural identity and turns everyday environments into welcoming, engaging spaces for residents.

We’re here because we think artists should dream beyond themselves to figure out how they can create for communities, in communities, and with communities. We’re here because art doesn’t belong just on gallery walls, it should be an everyday part of our lives. We want you to feel it, hear it, touch it. We want to use our skills and knowledge to build up this exact neighborhood, in ways that create abundance for this neighborhood.

Our mission is to provide mentorship and workshops for creative thinkers, makers, and doers at all stages in their journey, and serve as a community cafe for neighbors and flexible gallery space for artists and musicians to create and showcase unconventional work

Our Statement Against The Use of AI

Humans create art from our hearts and souls. Artificial Intelligence possesses no heart, no soul. AI is predatory and steals style and imagery from human artists. Predatory humans rely on AI to create images that they then sell, thus taking possible revenue from human artists. We have not, do not, and will not use AI in any of our processes, including the creation of this website. We do not support artists who use AI in any of their art-making processes, and The Plexagon will never feature art or artists that rely in any way on AI. Furthermore, we firmly stand against the movement towards artists mimicking the aesthetic of AI generated images. We will support any person who has previously used AI who comes to us with the desire of eschewing those methods and learning to use their own body and mind to create. If you or someone you love uses AI to create and would like help breaking free, please come to us. Nobody is irredeemable.

What we do at The Plexagon is raw and real, imperfect and beautiful. Just like you.
